Hello! Today I visited Seoul's iconic Gwangjang Market for the first time. With over 100 years of history and in a vibrant atmosphere, I tasted a truly diverse range of street foods. From fresh yukhoe to chewy kalguksu and sweet kkwabaegi, I explored popular local eateries and experienced the true taste of Korea. It was great to enjoy the best street food at much more reasonable prices than Myeongdong. If you want to taste the best street food in Seoul, I recommend visiting Gwangjang Market rather than Myeongdong. There are many authentic eateries that locals frequent. Gwangjang Market is easily accessible; if you come out of Exit 8 of Jongno 5-ga Station on Subway Line 1, you can enter the closest entrance. The market is open from 9 AM to 6 PM, but the food alley operates until 11 PM, so it's great for dinner or a late-night snack. If you are Korean, you can pay by bank transfer without cash, so keep that in mind. If you are a foreign tourist, it's a good idea to prepare cash. You must try the yukhoe (beef tartare) at Gwangjang Market. If you mix fresh yukhoe with pear and egg yolk, you'll experience a truly fantastic flavor.

The harmony of fresh yukhoe, sweet pear, and savory egg yolk was perfect here. It was incredibly delicious, full of sesame oil aroma, and the warm, complimentary sogogi muguk was also great. It was the best thing I ate today.

Eating yubu gimbap with the spicy and sweet chili sauce was truly a special treat. The addictive flavor was superb, and I could eat until full for an affordable price.

This Kalguksu restaurant became even more famous after being featured on Netflix's 'Street Food Asia'. It was so popular that people queued up to eat even in hot weather exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. The handmade chewy noodles and delicious kimchi were impressive.

총각네붕어빵Chonggakne Boongeubbang

The warm and crispy chapssal kkwabaegi was truly delicious. Especially, the goguma cream cheese kkwabaegi even had raspberry jam inside, making its sweet and soft flavor superb. Both the texture and the taste were perfect.
